Secondo Piraccini started his business in the fruit and vegetables sector in the Italian market in the 1950s and, together with sons Walther, Valchirio and Valtiero, established their import-export firm in 1966. Today the Piraccini Secondo firm’s operations handle around 20,000 tonnes of fruit annually in Italy, with 40% of this exported throughout Europe.
Since its foundation, research and development has enabled Gruppo Piraccini to achieve quality, health and innovation our linchpins enabling us to bring products to the market that are the ideal match for modern lifestyles and new trends in European consumption.
Thanks to collaboration with the Italian Agricultural Research Council (CRA) Forlì fruit farming research unit, recent varietal innovation advances have turned strawberries into one of the most important crops in the firm’s activity, in part due to the long schedule of production.
